Every so often you come across a strain that is the exact thing you’re looking for. This happened the other day when I found the Pineapple Upside Down Cake Live Resin from Buddies Brand, based out of Portland, Oregon, for $18 USD a gram. I had been hearing amazing things about the Pineapple Upside Down Cake from some friends of mine and was hoping to get lucky and find her and like a dream come true, there she was. To give you a little strain background, Pineapple Upside Down Cake is a Sativa-Dominant hybrid bred by Humbold Seed Company that crosses Pineapple Trainwreck and Cookie Monster. The strain is said to be delicious as well as energizing and I was ready to see what she had to offer.

I decided to use my Mothership Faberge Egg bubbler for this session and as soon as I opened the jar to the Pineapple Upside Down Cake I could smell smooth notes of Tropical fruit with a jet fuel finish. As for the consistency of the Pineapple Upside Down Cake, she was straight terpy sauce which made it very easy to grab a dab. As I dug my nail into this beautiful golden sauce, I could actually smell her bouquet and once it hit the quartz banger I could fully taste her as she left heavy notes of pineapple and melons with an earthy finish all over my tongue. As for the stone, it came on slowly but it was nice and strong and provided me a nice amount of energy without getting me so high I couldn’t function. I was able to get some work done while not being bothered by my chronic neck and back pain which was impressive. I was baked for a solid 2 hours after two dabs so this is some good extract. I did find her to be more on the Sativa side but at the end of the day, that was what I was looking for so it worked out perfectly.

Overall, I absolutely enjoyed the Pineapple Upside Down Cake and found it to be a solid Sativa for the daytime. When it came to her strength and potency, the Pineapple Upside Down Cake had me ripped after two hits and provided a mellow buzz that still gave me the energy I needed to get some work done so for that reason I gave her a score of 8.8/10. In regards to her taste and pungency, this is where the Pineapple Upside Down Cake made me a fan as she had a wonderful mix of pineapples and earthy diesel that lasted on the palate well after exhale so for that reason I gave her a score of 9.5/10. Overall, I enjoyed the Pineapple Upside Down Cake but wished it had a little heavier high to her but her taste made up for it. I would absolutely recommend the Pineapple Upside Down Cake for anyone looking for a mellow high, especially at a price point of $18 a gram.
